Yay for the first day of autumn! I've been busy with school and a few illnesses (hooray for salmonella). On my last entry, I received a prompt, and I have an idea for it swimming in my mind amongst related stories. Once this coming week is over, I should have more time and willpower to work on my fiction.

I've been sleeping plenty, but I'm so tired.

It's been a while since I last made a latch hook rug. I'm planning to create a Dalek soon (I finally made a sketch to use to convert to a pattern via leftsource.com), but I also ordered two latch hook kits and they're supposed to arrive tomorrow. Both of the ones I ordered are Halloween-themed.

I eagerly await autumn, partly because it won't be as horribly hot as it has been now. Next month, I'll have to make my to-read list for the season. I also look forward to the baking and to some of the more lighthearted Halloween-themed movies and specials that I love. Oh, and costumes. Maybe I'll do something with some friends, or just carve a pumpkin and pass out candy.

School starts next week! I'm hoping to be accepted into American Lit 2 (I'm on the wait list).

I hope to post more flash fiction here soon.

I'm just making a short update.

For Thanksgiving, I visited family. I spent a night at my grandparents' house the Sunday or Monday before Thanksgiving, and the next day, Grandma and I went to my cousins' and stayed until the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It was incredibly fun, and my cousins and I have acquired yet more inside jokes. We also played Mario "Bubs" one night and were up eating weird concoctions of things that Allie made until two in the morning. (Mario "Bubs" is the new Mario game for the Wii, which includes a feature where you can hit "Start" or something to keep your character from dying by putting it into a bubble.) Also, the stuff Allie made wasn't that weird, and I guess she'd ripped a recipe from Alissa.

On Black Friday, I went shopping with Alissa and her boyfriend. I ended up not buying anything, but I have some ideas on what to get loved ones for Christmas. First, we drove to Best Buy, and the checkout line was winding almost a quarter around the store. Next, we went to Jamba Juice (I think; it was a famous juice place) and then Target. We finished up at the mall.

This week and next are very stressful and are going to be very stressful for me. My last class session of the semester is next Thursday, when I take my final exam. The rough draft for my final essay is due tomorrow, and my final draft is due on Tuesday (it has to be six to eight pages).

I have several goals for the winter break, at least two involving writing (my fiction writing).

Trying not to freak out.

Class has gone by so fast; we have only four weeks left. The professor said we should get our poem analysis reports back either this Thursday or next Tuesday. We have our bigger essay soon; it is twice as long, so six to eight pages. We are allowed to choose or create a topic with anything we have read as sources. The professor has given us example topics, such as comparing Gertrude in Hamlet to the Wife of Bath in The Canterbury Tales.

On the writing front, I'm still struggling on what will be my next major project. My werewolf story seems like it would be much less involved than my science fantasy. For the latter, I've used Google images to put faces to each of my characters, and I have envisioned vivid flashes of some scenes.

I hope to get my laptop a new charger soon, because Tsirris has been a story that does not like being written by hand. Maybe my science fantasy will take better to paper; it may have a richer prose style, and so brainstorming and substituting for new words and composing the prose with meticulous care may be best worked out on paper.

On a final note, maybe soon I will link to a Photobucket album with the character photos I have saved. I would give the password, of course, or keep it public.

And, off I go to continue reading The Complete Sherlock Holmes.
