Well, I had about a month of very little writing. I'm getting back into the swing of things; over 2,000 words tonight, bringing me up to past 70,000 words for Inevitable Dusk. I'd say I have about 20k to go. I'm hoping to keep it below 100k.

So, far NaNo, I'm first doing Inevitable Dusk, and if I finish this draft before the end of the month, I'll move onto another of my projects. Day 1, I wrote over 1,800 words, but on days 2 and 3 I didn't write much at all.

More flash fiction will hopefully be on the way soon. I need to continue with Ladies Bingo, and finally answer an awesome prompt from someone that I asked for for Halloween last year.

I hope my fellow NaNoers are getting all the caffeine they need. I had a large pumpkin spice latte, because yum.

I had several days of no writing.  D'oh!  But my brother came to visit and we had a lot of fun.  We saw Wreck-It Ralph and adored it; I recommend it, and I loved the nods to some of my beloved video games (mostly older ones.  My brother is up-to-date with newer stuff).

My back pain has been through the roof.  Even sleeping is very painful, whether on either side or flat on my back.  I'll probably try to ice it again when I go to bed.  Maybe a chiropractor would help; I don't know.  I'm having my neck and shoulder pains as well.  Adam helped loosen up my tension--he's a strong guy--and the pressure on my neck and shoulders hurt but it alleviated some of the pain.  He was shocked at how dang tense I am.  It's like my shoulders are made of cement.  Grandma's good at loosening up my muscles, too.  I might buy another heat pad, or improvise, but sometimes heat worsens it.

Anyway.  We got rain today, which made me happy.  I had the perfect writing conditions: Rain; caffeine-filled, icy, slushy Diet Pepsi Cherry soda; my writing playlist; and a purring Annie.  I've managed to get in over 2,000 words throughout the day.

Word Count

Today: 2,144
Total: 5,626

Tsirris is now at over 81,000 words.

Happy NaNoWriMo, everyone!  This year, I'm working on two projects I've already started.  Last night, I wrote over 1,750 1,730 words for Tsirris, and I hope for a similar word count today.  I might work on Abby's story intermittently.

Sometimes, I like to take personality quizzes and tests for my characters to get to know them better.  Abby's answers led to the personality type of ESTJ: http://www.personalitypage.com/html/ESTJ.html.

I've decided on a name for Abby's best friend.  He will be Brannon.  That name received the most votes; also, it was one of my favorites as well as unique.  I might take a test for him as well.  Thank you to all who voted! :)

My NaNo goal is to complete Tsirris (the first full draft). Coincidentally, after class today, I figured out how I want to end the last scene. There's a tie-in regarding theme that plays off the novel's opening (if I phrased that coherently). Once this thing is all polished up, I think it will tell a decent story. It all hinges on the characters; hopefully they are likeable and distinctive.

News: My laptop charger is dead. Thankfully, my laptop is not dead (knock on wood). I can order a new charger around November 6th, so in the meantime I'm using Mom's laptop, but she doesn't have Microsoft Word, and I've been meaning to do some writing by hand, anyway. It gets me into this phase where things flow because I can't stop to analyze every single word. Then, the cleanup in the transfer to computer is pretty smooth.

So... Tsirris, buddy, I hope I finish your story soon! This one, anyway.
